Mitsui USA Scholarships 2010: Applications Available

Applications for the Mitsui USA Scholarships in Tennessee Program are now available by clicking the links below.

Eligible high school seniors who will enroll in one of Tennessee's public four-year colleges or universities in the fall are encouraged to apply.

The deadline for all applications is May 28, 2010.

As in prior years, winners will be selected on the basis of academic merit; a written essay; personal and/or career interests in multi-cultural and international affairs; an aptitude for foreign language study; and involvement in community volunteer activities or leadership roles. A Scholarship Review Committee comprised of members of the Japan-America Society of Tennessee will evaluate the applications and select the winners. All applicants will be notified by June 30th of their application status.

The Mitsui USA Scholarships in Tennessee Program, administered by The Japan America Society of Tennessee and funded through The Mitsui USA Foundation in New York, was announced in April 2004 by Governor Phil Bredesen and former Mitsui & Co. (USA) President and CEO Mr. Hiroshi Tada.

Mitsui USA is represented locally by Mitsui USA Nashville, an active member of the Board of Directors of the Japan-America Society of Tennessee.
